In the meantime, here’s a peek at December 2021 when we celebrated Matt’s 50th birthday and Christmas in Montana with the Engelbrecht clan.

We’ve launched Allyndreth at the University of Washington!
As we adapted to life co-existing with the COVID-19 virus, the first eight months of 2021 brought tremendous milestones in our kids’ lives. Allyndreth graduated from high school, Tyrian moved to Monterey to work and go to school at Cal State University Monterey Bay, and Evya had a career-best swim season.

Our sheltered existence continued in the Fall bringing us more distance learning, more sequestered celebrations, and Tyrian’s return from Vancouver. You can read about Tyrian’s harrowing escape from Canada in the pandemic roadtrip story.

In February, we continued with our plan for the year by moving Tyrian to Vancouver to start film school.
But as they say, life is what happens when you’re making other plans. To chronicle our time during the pandemic, we’ve started a series of albums called Behind the Mask.
The second half of 2019 was packed with activities! Our Summer included swim season, a trip to England, and big family events like Evya’s 10th birthday.
Our Fall had the usual Halloween festivities, a visit from the North Carolina Engelbrechts, and a trip to Disneyland.
The Winter celebrations brought Matt and Tyrian’s birthdays, Christmas with family, New Years, and a trip to Tahoe.

Thus far, 2019 has had nary a dull moment. With the usual and unusual school and extracurricular activities, we also had a splendiferous trip to Hawaii as well as Tyrian’s high school graduation. You can also see all the albums on our main gallery page.
