The Engelbrecht-Smyth Odyssey

The heat of the summer has thawed the winter glacier blocking the flow of pictures… here are winter and spring albums to enjoy!

Our December holiday/birthday extravaganza went off the beaten track this year as we spent most of December in Europe. The Engelbrecht side of the family met in Germany to launch a weeklong river cruise, Jewels Along the Danube.

Prior to the cruise, Evya, Allyndreth, Matt and Christina went to Munich a few days early to explore and experience German Christmas preparations.

After the cruise, the five of us spent a week in London, spanning either side of Christmas.

As a result of our globetrotting, our Christmas celebrations and the December birthday festivities for Matt and Tyrian spanned 6 weeks. Four birthday parties (x2) and four Christmas observances. We’ll be hibernating the rest of the Winter.

Quick before the holidays hit, we’ve posted pictures from the end of summer through our Thanksgiving week family getaway to Disneyland… enjoy!

Summer 2015 began with 3 weeks exploring Istanbul and mainland Greece.

We have 15 albums to share the trip.

We have also posted the travelogues we were sending to loved ones as we recounted our day to day adventures. The photos and tales in the kids’ journals often give a different perspective from the main narrative in the albums. You could even say, perhaps, that they tell the true story….

Two new albums capture January through Easter 2015… how egg-citing!

The New Year is a time for reflection and resolutions. We reflected on three-quarters of 2014 by completing 12 new albums. Our resolution is to never let 9 months pass again without updating our website.

We continued our 2014 tour of the splendors of Northern California by spending Presidents’ Weekend experiencing the sights, snow, and sun of Yosemite National Park.
