“Rion-Antirion Bridge” by Tyrian (6/24/15)
Today we went on Rion-Antirion Bridge. That was a bridge that we saw on a show called Impossible Engineering. The show described how the bridge was built and the challenges that it had to overcome, such as plate tectonics, wind, weight, location, non-solid ground. It spans the Gulf of Corinth, connecting mainland Greece to Peloponnesia. It’s the longest suspension bridge in the world.
When we started crossing the bridge, the toll to get on was 13 Euro, which was much more than anything else I’ve ever been on.
We saw it first from Nafpaktos beach.
